Motivating Your Employees
Overview
Good managers must, among other vital responsibilities, be able to motivate his employees to bring out the best in them. Studies have shown that a major source of productivity is employee satisfaction. This workshop aims to show participants how to create a culture of rewarding and recognizing employees’ accomplishments to improve retention and energize them to accomplish more and better results.
Course Objectives
In this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Acknowledge the importance of rewards and recognition in motivating their employees
- Identify and avoid incentives that are not meaningful and/or encouragement that backfires
- Establish effective recognition for their workgroup
Course Outline
In this workshop, participants will learn:
- To give honest and authentic praise
- To give recognition that is specific and timely
- To tailor rewards to suit the individual – “different stroke for different folk”
- To create a culture of recognition – “look for positive behavior and praise often”
