Programme
Test Synopsis
To ensure our course participants reap the benefits by being equipped with the right English skill sets, we will be carrying out a pre-course assessment. This requires attendees to sit for a conversational English test - the object of which is to gauge the current proficiency level of each participant.
The results collated therein will determine the most suitable and appropriate course level to attend (Elementary or Intermediate). The appropriate course materials and notes will be provided accordingly.
At the end of the course, a post course assessment will be given to examine learners’ competency based of what has been taught throughout the duration of the course. Please note that during the course, practical tests will be conducted after each section to ensure participants’ understanding. This ensures timely intervention by the trainer should the participant requires additional assistance.
Structure of the Test
The structure of the test will be divided into three parts as follows:
| Part 1 – |
Numerical and Alphabetical Proficiency (Conversational) Learners will be tested on their familiarity with numbers (i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4…) and the alphabet of the English Language. |
| Part 2 – |
Simple grammar and sentence construction (Conversational) Learners will be assessed on their proficiency and knowledge of basic grammatical structures and sentences e.g. Ability to speak in complete grammatically correct sentences. |
| Part 3 – |
Listening, Speaking and Comprehension (Practical) Learners will be given instructions to perform a certain function wherein they would be assessed on their ability to listen, respond and understand instructions. |
